📁 Step 1 – Download your favorite font

There are several reliable sites for downloading fonts, such as:

After clicking “Download”, the file will usually come compressed in .ZIP format.

📂 Step 2 – Extract the compressed file (.ZIP or .RAR)

After downloading the font, it will usually come in a compressed file with a .ZIP or .RAR extension.
This is like a “closed box” where the font files are stored.

For the installation to work correctly, you need to open this box , that is, unzip the file .

👉 We have a super complete and practical post explaining how to do this in just a few clicks:

Once the file is unzipped, you'll see font files with extensions like .TTF or .OTF , ready to be installed (we'll show you in the next step!).

🔤 Step 3 – Locate the font files

Inside the extracted folder, look for files with the extensions:

  • .TTF (TrueType Font)

  • .OTF (OpenType Font)

These are the font files you should install.

💻 Step 4 – Install the font on your computer

On Windows:

  1. Double-click the .ttf or .otf file

  2. It will open a font preview window

  3. Click the “Install” button in the top corner

On Mac:

  1. Double-click the .ttf or .otf file

  2. The Font Catalog will open.

  3. Click “Install Font”

🔁 Step 5 – Restart the program you want to use

This part is VERY important!

➡️ After installing the font, completely close the program you were using (Studio, Word, Photoshop, etc.)
➡️ Then open it again so that the new font appears in the list of available fonts.

🧠 Extra Tips:

  • 📌 Fonts are available in all programs : Silhouette Studio, Word, Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, etc.

  • 📲 Fonts don't work directly on your phone , unless you use apps like iFont or AnyFont (for iOS).

  • 🔒 Always check the font license : some are for personal use only!

💬 Still have questions?

If the font did not appear even after installation:

  • Make sure the program was closed at the time of installation.

  • Restart your computer

  • Check if the font file is not corrupted (try another font to test)
